She sneaks into your thoughts,
Sultry, seductive, a keen woman,
implanting fears, concerns,
all lies.
A devil in my ear,
she whispers comforts;
deceptive, she leads me to pain.
She hurts.
The gossip monster,
Fierce and unrelenting,
her yoke is strong
and her burden is heavy.
This woman,
promising sunshine,
drowns you in darkness,
a quick fall.
She starts as something small,
unspoken.
Then she is fed by the lips of a man,
tempted to speak, you give in; you let her in.
She plants herself inside your soul,
inside your heart,
grows like a cancer,
devours you from the inside,
until there's nothing left
but the monster herself.
